The Design by Fire conference takes place in the auditorium of Media Plaza.

In 1996 by Sander Architecten designed Media Plaza as a temporary centre to stimulate the use of innovative ICT.
Media Plaza proved it's legitimacy and in 2000 Sander Architecten was asked to make the centre state of the art again. Since then, Media Plaza holds several spaces equipped with contemporary presenting and debating technology.
There is a WiFi network at Media Plaza. (But why bring in your laptop if there are so many interesting people to talk with?)
Traveling by public transport
From the main trainstation Utrecht Centraal it's a 5 minutes stroll to Media Plaza:
Follow the signs "Jaarbeurs". After a slight downward inclination near the end of the walking corridor, keep to your right up to the sliding doors. Here you will leave Central Station, taking the escalator down. Cross the square (Jaarbeursplein), then cross the street (Croeselaan) at the traffic lights. Walk in the direction of the Halls.
Take Entrance "Oost" (which is Dutch for "East"). Walking straight on, after about 50 meter you will pass a waterfountain on your left. Take one of the two escalators going up to the second floor, where you will find Media Plaza.
Traveling by car
Head for Utrecht, then follow the signs "Jaarbeurs". The nearest parking lot is P3 (Parking fee is € 12,50).
Take Entrance "Oost" (which is Dutch for "East"). Walking straight on, after about 50 meter you will pass a waterfountain on your left. Take one of the two escalators going up to the second floor, where you will find Media Plaza.
In case parking lot P3 is full, you may also park in lots P2 or P4. From there you can take Entrance "West".
